Most people agree there should be reasonable limits on abortion to protect the health and safety of women and their unborn children.
What’s Really Happening in Oregon:
- Late-Term Abortions Are Rising
In 2023, abortions after 23 weeks increased 165% from the year before–well past the point when science shows babies can feel pain.
- No Requirements to Save Born-Alive Babies
Current Oregon law does not require life-saving care for babies who survive an abortion, and many proposals to establish such protections have been rejected.
- Taxpayer Funding of Abortion
In Oregon, abortion is legal until the moment of birth. Oregon taxpayers already fund over 50% of abortions in our state with their tax dollars.
We advocate for:
- Limiting abortions at the point when babies can feel pain
- Requiring medical care for babies born alive during an abortion
- Expanding real support for moms—such as housing, diapers and parenting classes
- Ensuring parents are informed and involved in their child’s major medical decisions
