Deputy Political Director 

  • Type: Full-time, exempt, Oregon Right to Life PAC.
  • Location: ORTL Office (Keizer, OR)
  • Reports to: Political Director, Executive Director 

About the Role: 

Direct and advance Oregon Right to Life’s political efforts by identifying, equipping, and electing pro-life candidates who can enact policies that protect human life from fertilization to natural death. This role allows you to apply political strategy and advocacy experience, lead high-impact programs, build statewide relationships, and expand influence in shaping pro-life policy year-round, with the opportunity to grow into senior leadership within the organization. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic planning and execution of designated political programs and initiatives in alignment with overall team strategy
  • Strengthen programs for candidate recruitment and development
  • Bolster effectiveness in local elections
  • Build upon existing grassroots operation 
  • Build and maintain relationships with candidates, elected officials, coalition partners, and key stakeholders 
  • Monitor and analyze political landscapes at the state and local level to inform strategy
  • Collaborate on communications and messaging related to political programs and priorities
  • Represent the organization alongside Political Director in coalition efforts, lobbying activities, and public-facing opportunities as delegated
  • Participate in ORTL PAC Board processes and assist with organizational events and initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned or as fits within skillset 

Desired Competencies and Experience:

  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission of ORTL, including a commitment to compassionate, non-sectarian dialogue 
  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, communications, public relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 
  • 2+ years of applicable experience in political or advocacy fields 
  • Proven ability to develop and manage new and existing programs 
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills 
  • High level of professionalism and integrity in handling sensitive information and relationships 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment 
  • Proficiency in office and campaign software (e.g. Google Suite, Salesforce, i360) Willingness to travel (10%+) and work occasional evenings and weekends

Bookkeeper Assistant

  • Type: Part-time, Flexibility Negotiable
  • Location: ORTL Office, Keizer, OR
  • Reports to: Accounting Manager

About the Role:

Oregon Right to Life (ORTL) is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper Assistant to support the financial operations of ORTL, the Oregon Right to Life Education Foundation (ORTLEF), and affiliated Political Action Committees. This position works under the direct supervision of the Accounting Manager and is responsible for executing well-defined accounting tasks including donation recording, accounts payable processing, payment reconciliation, and donor data coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivable & Donation Processing:
    • Record all incoming donations in the ORTL accounting system accurately and in a timely manner
    • Process monthly ACH transactions and ensure proper posting to donor accounts
    • Retrieve and import telemarketing data for donation recording
    • Reconcile Stripe receivables after each processing batch and report discrepancies to the Accounting Manager
    • Reconcile Square accounts following fundraising events
  • Accounts Payable:
    • Record payables by entity (ORTL, ORTLEF, and all PACs) in the ORTL accounting system
    • Obtain required approvals from the Executive Director prior to issuing payment
    • Print checks, obtain two authorized signatures, and mail payments in a timely manner
    • Track ongoing payments to specific vendors
  • Reconciliation & Support:
    • Reconcile all financial accounts on a weekly basis
    • Identify and follow up on account discrepancies, escalating issues to the Accounting Manager as needed
    • Process employee reimbursement requests in accordance with ORTL policies
    • Coordinate with the Data Management team to ensure timely and accurate entry of donor information
    • Work accurately within established procedures and communicate any irregularities to the Accounting Manager

Qualifications:

  • Required:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping
    • Ability to follow established procedures and work effectively under supervision
    • Demonstrated discretion in handling confidential financial information
  • Preferred:
    • Experience working with nonprofit organizations or political action committees
    • Familiarity with Stripe, Square, or ACH payment processing platforms
    • Experience with donor management or CRM systems

Work Environment & Schedule:

This is a part-time position based at the Oregon Right to Life office in Salem, Oregon. The position reports directly to the Accounting Manager. Some flexibility in scheduling may be available.

North Coast Canvasser

  • Type: Seasonal. July 8 – November 3, 2026
  • Location: HD 32 (Clatsop, Columbia & Tillamook Counties)
  • Reports to: Political Director

About the Role:

Oregon Right to Life’s Canvassers are on the front lines of our political advocacy efforts, connecting directly with voters door-to-door in targeted legislative and local races. As a Canvasser, you’ll be a key part of our voter contact program, working alongside a motivated team to make a real impact across Oregon’s North Coast.

Responsibilities:

● Contact voters door-to-door to meet statewide voter contact goals in coordination with
the political team
● Set and pursue individual voter contact goals with self-motivation and accountability
● Represent ORTL with a positive, professional demeanor in every voter and team
interaction
● Use a personal smartphone as part of daily canvassing operations

Qualifications:

● Commitment to pro-life values
● Experience on a political campaign or in volunteer organizing (preferred)
● Comfort with G Suite, Zoom, and common digital tools
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills
● Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work independently and as part of a team
● Adaptable, quick-learning, and goal-oriented

Compensation & Benefits:

Within Commuter Distance:
✓Base Pay $21.00/hour
✓ Door-to-Door and Top
Performer Bonuses once base threshold met

Outside Commuter Distance:
✓$18.00/hour
✓ Lodging & Food Stipend Included

All canvassers are paid weekly.

  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor with voters and team members
  • Must have access to a smartphone

  • Available to work in Marion & Polk counties
  • Dedication to pro-life values
  • Experience working or volunteering on a campaign
  • Familiarity with the G Suite, Zoom, and other common digital tools
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work both independently and on a team
  • Ability to adapt quickly to accomplish changing goals
  • Ability to master new skills quickly

Compensation and Benefits:

$21.00/hour, minimum 15 hours per week, maximum 30 hours per week.
