2019 Launch students worked in teams to decorate a cake displaying a pro-life theme. Launch is a student leadership retreat typically held during spring break. Students ages 16 to 21 engage in four days of intense pro-life education and training. These young adults come from a variety of backgrounds, yet all share one thing: a passion for life. While most Launch days involve intense sessions about everything from embryology to apologetics, fun activities are scattered throughout the retreat to encourage teamwork and camaraderie. The cake-decorating contest is typically held the first night for students to become familiar with each other. 
Launch attendees crowd into Salem’s Hope Pregnancy Clinic as Executive Director Mike Reid describes what the clinic does: provide free or low-cost services to women facing unexpected pregnancies. During Launch, students spend time in a classroom-like setting learning many aspects of the pro-life movement but also enjoy field trips like this one. It also includes a trip to the Capitol, where faithful pro-life lawmakers instruct the students on the importance of voting and defending pro-life legislation.
