Oregon Right to Life has two fresh faces on the team: interns Katana Liebelt and Ellaynah Brown. The duo joined ORTL in January of 2024 and are completing a four-month internship.

Liebelt’s and Brown’s focus is designing printed guides featuring local pregnancy and community resource centers, starting in our pro-life communities project target regions.

“I am so grateful for, and truly admire, the work ORTL is doing in our state, and knew I wanted to take the opportunity to work with and learn from their team,” says Brown, a 20-year-old college senior. “I am looking forward to the opportunity to use the skills and knowledge I have gained throughout my college experience to support the pro-life mission.”

Liebelt, 24, is excited to use her writing and editing abilities to defend Oregon’s most vulnerable.

“As a writer and editor, I wanted to create content for a[n organization] aligned with my Christian and conservative values,” she says. “ORTL aligns with these values because it protects life at every stage by opposing abortion, informing people, showing compassion and guiding pro-life voters.”

Both Liebelt and Brown recommend the internship program to other young pro-life advocates in Oregon. Brown even described her internship as a stress reliever from her college classes.

“Often when I am in need of a break, my break is working on the resource guides, because I get to be creative and work on something I am passionate about,” she says.

And make no mistake — Brown and Liebelt are passionate.

“We oppose abortion because we care about people,” Liebelt says. “We want to provide solutions to unplanned pregnancies, support those feeling shame and hopelessness and empower families to care for their children.”
