Lane County Senior Wins Oratory Contest

Pleasant Hill senior Gerard Morton is the winner of the 2022 Oregon Right to Life Education Foundation oratory contest. Gerard’s speech focuses on abortion’s negative impact on women’s health, relationships and the greater community.

Besides researching and preparing a winning speech, Gerard enjoys classical music and cooking. Outside of school, he works on his family farm and plans to serve as a wildland firefighter this summer.

Next up for our winner is the opportunity to compete in the national contest, held in conjunction with the National Right to Life Convention in late June. Congratulations and good luck, Gerard!
