Things are Looking Better for the Babies

This November’s surprising presidential election results have, at the very minimum, staved off further danger for the unborn. As I previously wrote, Hillary Clinton as President had an unmitigated pro-abortion agenda. Planned Parenthood received the same crushing defeat as did Clinton. The pro-abortion plans of both have, at least for a time, been put on hold.

No matter what your feeling on Trump might be, his cabinet appointees so far are remarkable.
Of special interest to pro-lifers is his appointment of Congressman Tom Price as Secretary of Health and Human Services. Congressman Price has an impeccable pro-life resume and, as such,  has caused hysteria in pro-abortion leaders. Senator Jeff Sessions, another pro-life advocate has been tapped to head the Department of Justice. Among other things, this should be good news for the many peaceful pro-life sidewalk counselors who have been jailed or threatened with jail.

Another important position for pro-lifers is the Ambassador to the United Nations. Pro-life Governor Nikki Haley is slated for this position. We can expect that the U.S. will no longer join with the EU in pressuring small nations to change their pro-life laws.

Each one of these men and women have been tried and found to be true to their pro-life stance. Each one is intelligent, hard-working and experienced.  While pro-abortion leaders continue to decry these appointments and by projection think that these leaders will over-extend the power in their positions, we can expect that each will hold his/her position with integrity. We can also have hope that when situations regarding abortion arise in their respective fields, things will get better and not worse.

Perhaps concerning the most important appointment of all, President-elect Trump is holding to his promise to appoint a justice in the mold of pro-life Anthony Scalia to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court. Exit polls showed that 21 percent of voters said that appointments to the Supreme Court were the reason they voted for the candidate they did, only seven percent choosing Clinton.

While there is a long, long way to go in this new administration, I, for one, am more encouraged now about the future of unborn children than I have been in a long while.  Time will tell all.
