For many years, Planned Parenthood has been the world’s leading proponent of abortion rights.   In the last few years, it has dropped its coy demeanor and has become blatantly and unapologetically pro-abortion.

The organization seems to have become obsessed by sex, with a goal of facilitating anyone ―of any age― having any kind of sex any time they “feel they are ready.”   The only “bad” thing about sex is an unexpected pregnancy, and the only “bad” people are pro-lifers who would in any way hinder an abortion.

Planned Parenthood fights any common-sense legislation that moderates abortion on demand.   They were the chief opponents of Oregon’s recent parental notification ballot measure.   They have fought other states’ parental notification laws all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.   They oppose the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban.   Recently, they filed suit against Missouri’s newly passed abortion clinic safety law, which requires abortion clinics to be held to the same standards for cleanliness and safety    required of other surgical facilities.   Planned Parenthood claims it would have to close some clinics while bringing them up to standards required by the new law.   If the condition of their clinics needs to be improved to meet industry safety and sanitary standards, Planned Parenthood’s concern about its clients’ safety should supersede their desire to keep those clinics open.

Across the nation, Planned Parenthood is building bigger abortion clinics, along with smaller “express” clinics which funnel girls into the main abortion center.   They succeeded in getting “emergency contraceptives” sold over the counter, with the only outcome being a huge jump in income from sales of the pills.   At least four girls have died from RU-486 sold at their clinics.   Recently, many lawsuits alleging malpractice and failing to report sexual abuse have been filed against the mammoth abortion provider.

All this is being done with your tax dollars.   This “non-profit” abortion giant, whose income reached an all-time high of almost one billion dollars in its most recent fiscal report, receives about one-third of its income from tax dollars.

In spite of all this, truth pushes back against the deceit and death that Planned Parenthood peddles.   Nationwide, the number of abortions, while still incredibly high, remains at a 30-year low.   Although still above the national average, Oregon abortion and teen pregnancy rates are also at a 30-year low.   A recent poll conducted by the New York Times and CBS News found that 56 percent of Americans want abortions to be illegal or under more strict limitations.

God’s truth about the sanctity of life is eternal, enduring to all generations.   To the degree we remain faithful to uphold His truth about what abortion does to unborn babies and women, our work will continue to bear fruit to His glory.   For all those who hear it, our message keeps on making the difference between life and death.
